Service as Action Activities

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) aims to connect academic learning with real-life experiences. In this context, Service as Action is one of the key parts of the program.

At AREL Anatolian High School, Service as Action activities in Grades 9 and 10 help students turn the knowledge and skills they learn in class into social benefit. Projects in areas such as environment, education, and social responsibility help students develop their sense of responsibility, leadership, and communication skills. Students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also learn how to use it to become responsible, solution-oriented, and socially aware individuals. These activities are planned in line with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations and according to students’ interests.

AREL Anatolian High School students work in groups based on their preferences and hold regular meetings throughout the term under the guidance of their teacher advisors. During this process, students conduct research, identify needs, contact related institutions and organizations, and manage cooperation processes themselves. Handling official communication with institutions helps students take ownership of the process and gain real-life experience.
