AREL College

IB-MYP Programme

AREL Anatolian High School confirmed its commitment to international education standards by receiving MYP authorization in 2007. This experience makes our school one of the most well-established and experienced IB schools in Turkey. Through this program, which covers students aged 11–16, we aim to raise global citizens with years of experience and knowledge.

Not Only Knowledge, but Skills-Based Education

Our MYP system focuses not only on “what you know” but also on “what you can do with what you know.” Our curriculum is built on a skills-based structure:

  • Learning to Learn (ATL Skills): We help students gain research, communication, social, self-management, and thinking skills so they can become lifelong learners.
  • Interdisciplinary Learning: We connect theoretical knowledge with real-world problems and build links between different subjects.

Criteria-Based Assessment: Transparent and Fair Success

At AREL Anatolian High School, success goes far beyond traditional exams. With the criteria-based assessment system we use in the MYP model:

  • Each subject has its own internationally standardized assessment criteria.
  • Students track their progress not only through grades but also through detailed feedback showing their improvement in specific skills.
  • This transparent system helps students understand their strengths and weaknesses and set clear academic goals.
