Preparation for the University

At AREL Science High School, which provides fully equipped, high-quality international education, our students are trained with a strong academic foundation and achieve incredible success in national exams.
AREL Science High School guides students toward their goals with special study programs for the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), which is the university entrance exam in Turkey.
Through exam preparation programs, students develop skills such as analytical thinking, analysing and synthesizing information, transferring knowledge and skills, and problem-solving.
In this process, the AREL College Measurement and Evaluation Centre scientifically and objectively analyses the knowledge and skills students gain during learning. It measures not only knowledge but also comprehension, application, analysis, and evaluation skills, allowing development to be tracked in a holistic way. Based on the data collected, students are individually monitored, in-class and out-of-class studies are planned, and personalized programs
are created to make exam preparation systematic and effective.
At AREL Science High School, university preparation starts in Grade 9.
University preparation is a planned and systematic process that covers the entire high school experience. The foundations of this process are laid in Grades 9 and 10. By supporting students’ academic development at an early stage, the aim is to help them become strong individuals in national and international exams, competitions, and admission processes to prestigious institutions. Students are also guided to discover their potential and set their future goals consciously.
Thanks to the intensive and disciplined university preparation program at our school, students move one step closer to their goals.
University Preparation Program in Grade 11
The YKS process requires not only studying, but also correct strategy and effective planning. In Grade 11, our main goal is to increase students’ academic awareness, complete TYT and AYT topics, and improve exam techniques to the highest level.
The Grade 11 program starts with a YKS orientation in the first week of the academic year and continues until the end of June without interruption. A special study program is also held in July to ensure productive use of the summer break.
During this process, students:
Follow an intensive program of 41 lesson hours per week, including mandatory curriculum and additional YKS support lessons.
University Preparation Program in Grade 12
In Grade 12, the university preparation process starts three weeks before the academic year begins. Students join an intensive program of 6 lesson hours per day during this period. With the start of the school year:
The 41-hour weekly curriculum is integrated with a TYT and AYT-focused university preparation program. Students also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with teachers, and their learning is strengthened through question-solving sessions and individual support.
