AREL Science High School

Career Counselling

Students, at the end of their high school education, make choices about universities and departments, which also shape their future professions, working fields, and lifestyles. Therefore, it is very important for our school that students receive accurate and effective career counselling to make healthy and informed decisions.

The main goal of our career counselling service is to help students understand themselves, discover their interests, abilities, and values, and gain awareness. In addition, students are provided with accurate information about professions so they can make conscious and healthy decisions about their future.

Career studies, carried out under the responsibility of the Psychological Counselling and Guidance Unit, work in coordination with the Domestic and International University Counselling Unit and the Measurement and Evaluation Unit. Our unit supports students’ career journeys based on the following principles:

  • Students discover their abilities and continuously gain new skills.
  • They become aware of the rapidly changing world of work and professions.
  • They gain the knowledge and skills needed to build their career plans.
  • They make informed choices about different cultures and opportunities and grow into individuals with the skills required by the modern workforce.

Our unit creates individual career development files for students and holds one-on-one career counselling meetings with each student. Students’ development is monitored through interest, ability, and career tendency inventories, surveys, course selection processes, academic performance tracking, and university preparation activities.

In addition, various activities are organized such as success and motivation seminars, career planning sessions, career days and conferences, university visits, alumni meetings, career workshops, and internships. University fairs and individual expert counselling services during the application period are also provided to help students make the right and informed decisions.
